Description
Mohammad sits before a camera, answering questions. What begins as a bureaucratic interview spirals into a raw exploration of what it means to be “civilized” in a world that demands you justify your existence. Using live camera and mixed media, Ahmad Meree delivers a searing examination of citizenship, belonging, and the exhausting performance of assimilation. UNCIVILIZED is a play that explores the journey of leaving home to become a refugee and then a citizen. What is identity? A piece of paper? … We’ll see.
