Description

This performance celebrates an ancient art form, showcasing its expressive movements, cultural depth, and artistic beauty. Through captivating choreography, it highlights the blend of strength, control, and fluidity that defines belly dance, evoking emotion and storytelling through the body. Open and inclusive in spirit, it reflects themes of self-expression, connection, and community, offering audiences an engaging experience that honours both tradition and contemporary interpretations of this dynamic dance form.

In the spirit of storytelling, we pause to honour this land's ancient and contemporary narratives. We stand upon the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the xΚ·mΙ™θkΚ·Ι™yΜ“Ι™m (Musqueam), SαΈ΅wxΜ±wú7mesh (Squamish), and sΙ™lilwΙ™taΙ¬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Just as we celebrate the diverse voices of immigrant and refugee artists, we recognize the First Peoples who have woven this place's first and enduring tales. Their stories are a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of community. As we come together from many corners of the world, may we always remember, respect, and learn from this land's stories.
